In fantastic weather, ordered especially for the occasion, a team from Templine made the long journey north to Fort William for the Bank Holiday weekend in order to scale Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain. Led by Jan Kovac and his long suffering partner, Kamila, the trek raised money for Templine’s favourite charity TOM – Type One Mission – that sponsors research into type-one diabetes.
One extremely noteworthy member of the party was Lucas. At four-years-old he has to be one of the youngest people to walk to the top (and down) unaided.
Having summited the highest three peaks in England, Wales and Scotland, Jan is looking for another challenge. Rumours abound that the Antarctic beckons and Jan might be off to reconnoitre the area – at least Kamila will get some peace and quiet for a while!
