Our very own Blake McKillop has made the finals for The Prince’s Trust Breakthrough award! The ‘Breakthrough’ Award recognises the progress of young people overcoming barriers and developing new skills.
We have been proudly working alongside our client, Neovia Logistics, and The Prince’s Trust ‘Talent Match Programme’ for more than a year to increase employment opportunities for candidates with learning disabilities and specifically Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Blake, who was part of the Talent Match Programme, has been successfully working at Neovia for more than 12 months and won the hearts and minds of the regional judging panel to make it to the national finals in October!
“Since being here I feel my social skills have been developed to the point I can talk to any colleague, manager or coach with confidence.” –Blake McKillop, programme candidate.
But the good news does not end here for Blake, following his regional win, he has been offered a permanent contract at Neovia!
Adam Martin, Contract Manager, Siamo Group, said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to see Blake grow in confidence, excel in his role, and become part of a solid team.
The scheme is fantastic and opens a door for those who may struggle to find the opportunity for employment, and therefore miss out on the benefits that come with working, and being part of a team.”
