September saw runners, from various Siamo Group locations, teaming up to take on the Wolf Run challenge.
Our action heroes took on the Autumn Wolf challenge in Warwickshire earlier this month. For those unfamiliar, the Wolf Run takes on challenges across woods, obstacles, lakes and fields. A 10k run broken up by obstacles providing physical challenges that require teamwork, stamina and a certain amount of strategy (and shouts of ‘help!’) to overcome.
As well as a fun challenge, this Wolf Run also gave us the opportunity to raise much-appreciated funds for a charity close to our hearts.
Sadly, one of our colleagues lost their young son to rare childhood cancer, rhabdomyosarcoma. This particular type of cancer is aggressive and treatments are harsh. Our mission in completing this challenge was to raise as much money as possible for Alice’s Arc. This charity works to both support families affected by rhabdomyosarcoma and to support research into much kinder treatments for the children diagnosed. It is also organised into specific Arcs representing individual children affected, allowing families to raise money and awareness in memory of their children. Our specific mission was to raise funds for Alice’s Arc through Beanie’s Arc.
Our recruitment, training and head office support teams came together to represent Siamo Group for the challenge. Together we ran, walked, swam, and scrambled through to make it past the finish line.
Donations came in throughout our training, all the way up to the day, and after. We are so grateful to all of our generous donors who took us over our target to a fantastic total of £2040!
Thank you so much to all those who supported us and donated towards our target. We could not have done this without you!
