Amina Khalid joined Siamo in 2021 as part of a government scheme called Kickstart.
Our Heywood-based team first employed Amina as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant on a six-month program of training through the government scheme. Following a successful initial period, Amina was offered a permanent position as Recruitment Consultant with the team.
On her time so far working with Siamo Amina said: “I have been working with Siamo for 10 months. I joined Siamo on a Kickstart scheme and the staff have been a great help from the start.
“Recruitment is not an easy job but is rewarding and gives me a great deal of job satisfaction. It’s a people business, therefore, it can teach you a lot about life and people and it has improved my communication skills greatly.
Kara Hilton has been an amazing support. Her guidance and patience have been really helpful in achieving professional goals.”
Kara Hilton, Account Manager- Heywood & Skipton, said: “We identified a gap within the team and decided to give the Kickstart scheme a try, as specialist recruiters there’s a lot of ‘on the job’ training that needs to be done to ensure our recruitment teams are able to adequately support our clients and candidates alike.
“We were really pleased with Amina from the start she showed enthusiasm and passion for the role as well as being a great team fit.
“Working closely with our training division we were able to provide full training and really nurture Amina through her development journey. We knew she had fantastic potential and are looking forward to seeing how she progresses with the business.”
The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long-term unemployment. More information can be found on the Government website.
