Job Title: Cold Store Supervisor
Location: Wolverhampton
Hourly Rate: £15.61 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 14:00 – 22:00
Reports To: Cold Store Manager / Site General Manager

About the Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Cold Store Supervisor to join our Wolverhampton site, supporting the day-to-day operations as we work towards making it the flagship location for Constellation Cold.
This is a hands-on supervisory role, overseeing cold store operatives and administration staff, ensuring products are handled safely, efficiently, and in line with all company and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and work alongside cold store operatives to ensure efficient pick, pack, scan, loading, and unloading operations
  • Lead, motivate, and manage teams to achieve productivity, quality, and customer service targets
  • Ensure all staff are inducted, trained, and monitored in safe working practices
  • Manage daily cold store activities including receipt, storage, custody, and release of customer goods
  • Maintain full compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards (BRC, DQMP, Health & Safety, Quality, Environment)
  • Support senior management and collaborate with other supervisors across the site
  • Monitor performance, address issues proactively, and manage disciplinary processes where required
  • Assist with stock control, physical stock takes, and the disposal of damaged or out-of-date stock
  • Provide cover for the Cold Store Manager during absence
  • Support internal and external audits and follow up on actions
  • Act as Fire Warden for your shift following training

Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping and safe systems of work
  • Report hazards, near misses, accidents, and incidents promptly
  • Ensure all team members understand emergency and safety procedures
  • Assist with risk assessments, inspections, and Health & Safety audits

Key Requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse or cold store environment
  • FLT / MHE licences (essential)
  • PC literate with good numeracy skills
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems
  • Strong people management, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Food industry experience preferred but not essential
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage time and resources effectively
