Raising Productivity & Reducing Costs Through Performance Management

When a client needed urgent support at their Greater London site, we stepped in to stabilise the operation, rebuild workforce confidence, and resolve inherited issues, achieving a £150k client saving.

Once the TUPE transfer was successfully completed and compliance fully restored, our focus shifted to driving measurable improvement. By enhancing onsite capability, elevating candidate quality, and implementing structured performance management, we delivered significant value in the first year, transforming team engagement into tangible operational and financial gains.

Challenge

Operational working rates bring cost challenges to customers; however, these can be mitigated by effective agency onboarding and performance management.

We received a request from a longstanding customer to help replace a non-compliant agency at their Greater London location. Initial challenges were centred around engagement, reassurance of the existing team and financial query resolution.

Following our successful engagement and TUPE process, the emphasis changed to adding value for our customer. With a now reassured team and compliance in place, the obvious improvement point with real value was performance management, which was systematically measured but falling short of desired levels.

Solutions

Firstly, we retained a Siamo project team post-TUPE to put performance processes and reviews in place. The onsite team were upskilled, coached on improving candidate quality and given the confidence to challenge long-term staff with increasing their levels. The customer was engaged in partnership, with both management teams aligned on targets.

Benefits

The outcome was an 8% increase in agency performance in year one. Based on a supply of 2,500 hours per week, a weekly saving of £2,900 and an annual saving in excess of £150,000 was achieved.
