The highlight of Templine’s mid-July, Summer conference turned out not to be management’s analysis of business performance, review of core company values or forecasts of future trends affecting the industry. Instead it was competition in the format of ‘It’s a Knockout’. Teams ran, bounced and slid across bouncy-castle-type obstacles to retrieve various objects.
The relentlessly sunny day witnessed pre-tournament favourites, captained by Senior Manager Graham Lawes, come up short as their early promise was smothered in a blanket of bubbles. The challenge from David Bacon’s dream team also failed to materialise, though, choking back his disappointment David pointed to the heavens and said, ‘We wanted a blue-sky day and we certainly got one!’
For the record, Executive Manager, Craig Golby steered his team to victory, though not without some controversial decisions from the referees. Perhaps next time a video referral system will be needed.
